We built Pet Transport Verify because the existing review landscape is noisy and easy to manipulate. The same standard applies to how we handle your data — minimum collection, clear purpose, and no resale.
What we collect
- Account info — email and password if you create an account (customer or business owner).
- Reviews & messages — the content you submit, plus a hashed email so we can verify it's a real person and prevent duplicate reviews.
- Owner profile data — name, title, photo, and contact details that business owners choose to publish on their claimed listing.
- Operational logs — basic request logs and error reports used to keep the site running and to investigate abuse.
What we don't collect
- We don't sell or rent your personal data to third parties.
- We don't run third-party ad networks or behavioral ad trackers.
- We don't share your email with the companies you research.
How we use your data
- To show your review or message to the relevant company and other shoppers.
- To prevent spam, fake reviews, and abuse of the directory.
- To send you transactional emails (claim approvals, review replies, password resets).
USDA APHIS data
USDA registration data displayed on this site is sourced from the public APHIS Animal Care database. It is government public-record information about businesses, not individuals.
Your rights
- You can edit or delete your reviews and owner profile at any time from your account.
- You can request full account deletion by emailing us — we will remove your personal data and anonymize public reviews.
- If you're in the EU, UK, or California, you have the right to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you.
Security
Passwords are hashed by our auth provider — we never see your plain-text password. Account data is stored in an encrypted database with row-level access policies that restrict reads and writes to the appropriate user.
